Akihabara (秋葉原) is Tokyo's "Electric Town" (秋葉原電気街 Akihabara Denki Gai), located on the eastern side of the central Chiyoda ward. The area filled with thousands of shops selling every technological gadget you can imagine, from cameras to PlayStations and vacuums to DVDs. Also known as the centre of Japanese Pop Culture. Its name is frequently shortened to Akiba (アキバ) in Japan
